Happy Easter | NOTD

Happy Easter Everyone!

Easter, yet another holiday that gives us an excuse to stuff our faces full of chocolate!
As you've probably already guessed by the title, i have attempted to do some nail art (note attempted, as clearly i am not very good at nail art) to hopefully inspire some of you to try some Easter inspired nail designs of your own. So let's crack on...

As you can tell i am clearly not very good at nail art. However, it's just a bit of fun so these were the designs i came up with. My drawing skills are actually fairly good but when it comes to painting nails i posses the skills of a five year old child. Anyway just to clarify what the designs were meant to look like, the first design is a bunny rabbit, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th are Easter eggs and the 5th is a chick.

I absolutely love the Barry M  nail varnishes, (link here) they're one of my favourite brands as i find them so easy to apply and they dry super fast which is great if you're as impatient as i am. They usually only need 1 coat but i would suggest 2 just to be on the safe side. Some of the colours only really need one coat most of the time like Lemon. Peach Melba and Mint Green need 2 coats and Strawberry and Blue Moon need 2 or 3 as they are a little more transparent than the others. All five shades are super glossy pastels and they don't chip easily which i love. So i hope this maybe gave you some ideas that you could try yourself, and if you do decide to create your own Easter inspired nail art designs leave a link to them in the comments and i'll be sure to check them out.

What are you up to this Easter?

Review | MUA Heaven And Earth Eye-shadow Palette

Hello everyone!
This is the first review i have written on my blog but hopefully, it won't be to bad so here it is...

Heaven and Earth eye shadow palette ~ £4
First off i'd like to say just how much i love this brand, their products are so cheap but such great quality and i would definitely recommend them to anyone on a tight budget or for people who are just getting into make-up. Almost every one of MUA's products are under £4. You can get lipsticks, lip gloss and eye shadow for just £1 as well which is great!

This was the first eye-shadow palette i bought from MUA and i was extremely pleased with it. I really liked that they were all neutral, earthy tones which really suit my skin tone, and that they had a slight shimmer. I also soon found out they they were great for creating a natural smoky eye look. The palette contains 12 beautiful shades, which is great if you're like me and your always changing you combinations. My favourite combination to use is 1,4,10 & 12 as i think they all compliment each other really well and create a great smokey eye. I also love the fact that the first shade can be used as a highlighter. The palette comes with a double ended sponge applicator brush which is okay, but i prefer not to use it.

Overall, I think that £4 is a bargain to say you get 12 absolutely gorgeous shades and a brush! I would definitely recommend this palette to everyone as you can create so many unique looks for daytime or evenings. All of the shades are super pigmented and so easy to apply and blend.

However, the only downside to MUA is that their products are only available at Superdrug or the MUA website which you can click the link here if you would like to go and have a nosey at some of their other products.

What's your favourite MUA product?

EXAMS | Top Tips For Revison

Exams!
Yes it's that time of the year again, EXAM SEASON. The time of the year us teenagers look forward to most (excuse my sarcasm)! In all seriousness, exams can be a very stressful time of year. So, in the hope that this may help some of you here are a few tips and techniques on revision...

1) To get the most out of your revision, you should pick a method that suits you weather it is copying text over and over again until it sinks in, drawing pictures and writing in big colourful letters, using flash cards, or even annoying your family by sticking hundreds of post-it notes around the house with various facts written on them.

2) Create a comfortable, calm, relaxing environment. Choose a place where you like to be like your room or in the garden for example, somewhere you feel 100% relaxed, maybe even light some candles. Also i like to listen to music when i'm revising but with the volume low so it doesn't distract me.

3) Do NOT leave it till last minute as this is proven to be one of the worst methods of revision! This is called "cramming" which is where you stress about the exam a few days before and stay up till late revising as much as you possibly can in the time you have left. You should think about revising for the exam a month before depending on how confident you are with the subject, create a revision timetable or have a set amount of time every couple of days. This will really help reduce stress. Also there are apps available to help you with revision and will even create a revisions schedule for you!

4) Take a break! This is not an excuse to take a break every five minutes to get out of revision. What you should do is every 20 minutes or so take a 5-10 minute break. This will help your focus and improve motivation. Also plan little rewards for after your revision, maybe plan a shopping trip with your friends or something along those lines. You could also plan a bigger trip for after your exams to inspire you to do better.

5) Sometimes revising as a group is really helpful! This way it is more fun as you can have a chat while revising, or get them to test you on your knowledge. Also if you don't understand something, text books are no help, but having someone else explain it to you will help it to sink in. So just get a group of friends together, get some snacks and revise.

6) Use a range of different media and techniques. For example, try to expand your revision by using books, internet, other peoples knowledge, or even educational videos/songs on youtube -which i know can be extremely cringey but they really do help you to understand and remember certain topics.

Which exams do you have coming up and how are you revising for them?

The Beauty Blogger Tag

I have been tagged by my sister Laura over at Laura's all made up to do the beauty blogger tag so here goes...

Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?
I started blogging a few months back on my previous blog, life's little things, but then i decided to start a new blog. I began this blog last month. The reason i started created a blog in the first place was because my sister Laura created her own blog a few years back and it just seemed like so much fun.

Whose blog did you fall in love with first?
The first blog i read was my sisters of course. I hadn't really heard of any other bloggers at that point but then i began watching YouTube and discovered Zoe's and Louise's blogs which i love!

What was the first blogosphere hyped about product that you bought? Was it worth the hype?
I haven't really bought any extremely hyped about products but i did venture into Lush for the first time ever before Christmas after reading and watching s many reviews on their products. And yes it was totally worth it even if i did get a headache after being in the shop too long!

What are your five favourite things about blogging and being a Beauty Blogger?
As i am fairly new to blogging i don't really have that much to say however these are a few things i've loved so far...
1) People are so friendly and lovely and it's so nice to be involved in such a great community,
2) i really love reading through other peoples beauty and fashion blogs to get inspiration or beauty tips,
3)you get to share your honest opinion on products you have bought and help people to decide whether they would like to buy the product,
4) I really love the design and photography aspect of blogging and can't wait to learn new ways to improve my photography and design skills.

What have you learnt from being a Beauty Blogger?
From being a beauty blogger (of sorts) i have been introduced to different styles, techniques and routines regarding make-up and beauty products and have learnt a lot about how important it is to find products that suit you and not just products that everyone is raving about.

Have you changed anything since becoming a Beauty Blogger?
Since starting a blog and reading blogs i have changed the sorts of make-up/ products i used and have changed the way i apply them. I have now also got a sort of skin/beauty regime which i would never even have thought remotely important before.

What advice would you give to a Beauty Blogger just starting out?
As i am a new blogger myself i would say be yourself and write about things you enjoy,
leave comments on or follow peoples blogs,
get a bloglovin' account, this is a great way to get noticed,
and finally make sure you get your blog design how you want it, make sure that it's a clear layout, easy to read and eye-catching!

What are your top 5 make-up brands?
1) Maybeline
2) Rimmel
3)MUA
4)L'Oreal
5)Benefit

Recommend your top 5 beauty products
1)Maybeline- colossal volume express mascara,
2)Rimmel- stay matte powder,
3)MUA- heaven and earth eye-shadow palette,
4)Maybeline- baby lips cherry me,
5)Rimmel- wake me up foundation.

And anyone else who would like to do this tag!

Monthly Review #1 | March

Hello lovelies,
I haven't posted much lately because i've been revising (how exciting) so i haven't really had time to do anything. Also i had my work experience last week which i'll talk about more later on. Here is my review on March...

Highlight of the month :
Last week i went on work experience, for those of you who don't know what work experience is it is pretty self explanatory, you get to experience the world of work usually in the career you want to pursue. However, as i have absolutely no idea what i want to do when i leave school i chose to go back to my old primary school for the week and be a teaching assistant. It felt so weird being back there after being in a secondary school for 5 years. Everything was a lot smaller! All of the teachers remembered me and were happy to see me (i think) they were all so lovely as well. I was asked to help out in a year 3 class with the teacher who taught me in year 5 which was great. All of the children were so lovely and one boy even made me a card to say thank you.I got the day off on Wednesday as well because the teachers were on strike so my mom took me shopping and bought me some really lovely things. Overall it really was a truly wonderful week and i wish i could have stayed longer.I have now returned to the reality of exams, homework and a school of 2000+ antisocial teenagers- the joys of high school...

I also got to attend the teen book awards and got to help out because my school was hosting it. I got to meet 3 of authors who were nominated for best teen book which was really good.

I was also pretty excited about the release of Captain America - The Winter Soldier, however i haven't been able to go and see it yet so it's definitely on my to-do list for this month!

Achievements of the month:
First off i got a really good report from work experience which i was very happy with and secondly i got a really good report from school and achieved an A* in my English assessment! :)

Fail of the month:
I haven't really done anything too embarrassing or stupid this month to be honest which is a first for me as i am constantly making a fool out of myself in public.

Quote of the month:
"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind" ~ Dr Seuss

Overall i would give March a 9/10
What would you rate you rate it?

1) What did you have for breakfast today?
Today i had orange juice and toast but i usually just have a cup of tea.

2)What is the earliest memory of your childhood?
I cant really remember any specific instances from my childhood and the ones i can remember aren't really in any type of age order. Also i tend to mix early memories up with scenarios that i have imagined happened in real life so i can't really say.

3)Your favourite pair of shoes are?
My favourite pairs of shoes are a pair of beige, suede look wedges which i bought in the Primark sale reduced to £6 from £12 i think so they were a total bargain!

4) what is the best pun you have ever spotted?
To be honest i couldn't really think of any puns off the top of my head so i looked on the internet and found this one "I wanted to buy a camouflage t-shirt but i couldn't find one"

5)Who was the last person you texted?
The last person i texted was one of my closest friends, Beth. We were talking about the YouTubers Dan and Phil and how jealous we were of all the people who went to playlist live.

6)Grab two random socks from your drawer and describe them.
One is a burgundy leopard print sock and the other is beige and has little lions on it.

7)You are in terrible danger, which Disney prince would you want to rescue you?
Probably Prince Ferdinand from Snow White and the seven dwarves.

8)You're invited to a superhero themed costume party, who do you dress up as?
If i was a boy i would go as either Thor, Loki or Iron man, however as i am a girl i would probably go as Black Widow aka Agent Romanoff.

9)How many pillows do you sleep with?
2 usually but i only have one now.

10)You get to make a new national holiday, what holiday do you make and when?
I would make a holiday like mother's day or father's day where you spend the day with your entire family and give presents and show them how much you appreciate everything they do. i would make this holiday sometime in June or July.

11)Horoscopes, total cods wallop or something to it?
I don't think that there is anything to it as it's all so vague and general, however that doesn't stop me reading mine every time i pass the horoscope page in a magazine.

Also if there is anyone else who would like to get involved then let me know in the comments and i'll nominate you too.

My 11 questions:
1)Marvel Avengers or Justice League ?
2)Which do you prefer white, milk or dark chocolate?
3)If you could keep any animal as a pet what would it be?
4)Do you prefer a city landscape or a natural landscape?
5)If you could spend a day with any celebrity from the past, present or future who would you chose?
6)Vampires or werewolves?
7)If you could visit any place in the world where would you go?
8)Do you believe in ghosts?
9)High end or high street products?
10)What was your favourite cartoon or programme growing up?
